2012-03-27 Diesels with sand train heading for Bellville

09:13 - 3 Diesels come in with a train loaded with sand.
Only the 1st locomotive can be identified as being no 35-417

The train disappears into the cutting in order to move beneath the Strand lines into the Bellville yard.

2009-06-19: Going to work in the Overberg ...

09:45AM These 4 diesels are on their way, presumably to the Overberg region, to fetch a train.

They (35-009, 35-417, 35-054 and 35-499) come to a brief 2 minute halt to sort out some problem - here one of the crew gets off from the front unit

and mounts the third last unit.

The problem is fixed, and the consist speeds off again

2010-11-10: North of Kalbaskraal - 2 diesels in search of a train

Sunday afternoon 14:43 - diesels 35-417 and 35-045 on their way towards Malmesbury and maybe beyond.

That's Table Mountain in the background.

2011-07-20: Diesel Freight departing from Bellville Yard

10:44AM 10 July 2011: Units 35-417 & 35-019 show up from cutting as the train is departing from Bellville Yard.

Not that I have any problem with this - only when looking afterwards at my images, it would appear that the train had an all female crew.

With all the distractions, this location is not at all ideal for photography, even Table Mountian is at a disadvantage!

The train was just in time for the green light towards Stikland, and steadily kept momentum moving out of the cutting onto the main line.

2011-07-19: Diesel Freight on way to Bellville Yard

9:48AM 9 July 2011 - Coming in towards the Bellville goods yard, this freight is descending into the cutting to pass underneath the busy commuter railway line to the Strand.

Headed by 35-060 and 35-417

The trucks are fully loaded, but the image gives little hint as to the kind cargo.
